Dear journal,

Today we have had our project brief for our final major project.

we were given titles that we might want to use as a starting base for our work and ideas these topics included:

DNA

Equilibrium

Elements

I have created mind maps for all three of these topics expressing my thoughts and ideas that I think relate to them.

This is a mind map that I created based on my thoughts on equilibrium I enjoyed exploring the different aspects of the topic and went into depth with sketched images and ideas as well as thinking of issues in society in present day and the issues of mental health and domestic violence and the idea that people are treated differently such as if they are transgender and they are treated unequally because they are seen as different. I think it is important for people who feel isolated battling with mental health and violence to have a voice and yo be recognised and not pushed out of sight, I think that art is a great way of expressing the pain, issues and difficulties people may face daily and to give them a voice through the art making people aware of the illness and dangers of unbalanced mental health. I have also thought of relating serial killers and violent people to the mental health issue as some of the research that I have done on the topic of disturbed people suggest that many serial killers or violent people are the way they are through how they were loved or treated through their childhood and how that mentally impacts on how they grow up and the person they become. I find all of this intriguing and makes me what to research either into the topics. I am also going to research further into the present day society to see how opinions on mental health issues have changed over time and the importance of recognising the danger of mental health on an individual I will do this to have more of a wider understanding of mental health and domestic violence and to understand how everyone else in this society portrays it to find the most appropriate, clear and strong way to express it through my art.
